A Legacy of Excellence in Testing

Founded by the third-generation Milleti family, ENLAB Italia has a deep-rooted history in the testing and certification industry. Founded in Scrofiano, Tuscany, on the principles laid down centuries ago by Italy’s pioneering architects and engineers — visionaries who believed that the *beauty of a structure must be matched by its safety and longevity
Our philosophy draws particular inspiration from the work of Giovanni Poleni (1683–1761), a professor of experimental physics and early structural engineer at the University of Padua. In the 18th century, Poleni introduced the first formal structural analysis techniques to assess the stability of large domes — including his critical intervention on the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, where his assessments and modeling prevented catastrophic failure.
Poleni’s work not only shaped the early science of structural mechanics but also planted the seeds for regulated testing and performance-based design, making him a spiritual forerunner of modern building codes and certification systems.
